Where We're
Headed
Tracking progress and upcoming features, all in one place. This is the vrc.dj roadmap live... hah.
"Closed Testing"
I didn't really consider version numbering until now. And I'm kind of just trying to get this app into what I would consider a "1.0-state". As it stands now, anything prior to this version is just kind of... undeclared. So let's just start at 0.9.0, why not. Proper feature tracking starts with the next release.
"Secret Beta Launch"
That's right, we now have an account system! Tragically, as of now it only supports Discord. But hey, that means you now have the ability to make changes to your presence whenever you please.
A full-on hierarchical tag system with parenting, handling of aliases, and color-coding! Users can use any tag they want, and editors ensure consistency in tag relaionships, namings, description and its contents. Basically: If a genre (or other type of tag) doesn't exist, just use it - we'll do the rest!
You can now enable booking requests via the vrc.dj Discord Bot. Manage bookings from within the Booking Dashboard. You may join our Discord Server for this feature to work. (Thanks Firescaw!)
You can now submit livesets, and tag them using the all-new tagging system! Livesets will be listed on tag-view pages ("/t/-pages").
Yep, that is definitely a feature. On a /t/-page (example: /t/edm), just keep scrolling. Livesets will keep loading as long as they have been posted. Sorted anti-chronologically (- most recent submission at the top).
Click the icon in the top-right of the navbar (π) to open a search modal - also opens using the F-hotkey. Does it get any quicker than that?
I added a bunch of hotkeys to make navigating this website even quicker, for people who are as impatient as me. Hotkey-icons show up on desktop for guidance. Tap away!
Each week, a genre tag gets the spotlight on the home page - complete with its artwork, gradient, and a direct link to explore the artists and sets behind it. Admins can queue them up in advance on a weekly schedule.
Website now features legal documents like the Impressum, the privacy policy and Terms of Service.
"Secret Beta pt. 2"
For b2b sets or VJ/LD credits - you can now invite any artist on the directory for a collaboration on your liveset!
Added draft buffer in case of a user accidentally closing the site; and overall adjusted design to look more coherent with the rest of the app. Livetets now support getting assinged to more than one community. Collab events and festivals, rejoice!
Improved detection of artist names, community names, the performance date and collaboration partners from the title; smart stripping of artist names from title; tracklist detection from description (youtube-only)
Mention Artists, Communities, and Livesets in your bio, wiki, or liveset description. Type "@" and start typing out the title of the thing you want to tag!
Swipe down to open up the navbar, and swipe up to close it again - just one more way to get to your destination even quicker!
"The Playback Update"
Public-facing pages now load without refreshing the entire page.
Playing Livesets has now become a little more streamlined and centralized through the the "Universal Playback Bar" which you may now find at the bottom of the page. Listening has just been made a little easier!
A new home slide that showcases artists who recently opened up a profile page. Look who landed!
Showcasing one Artist on the home page, for the next 60 minutes. Selected at random, under the condition that the artist has a press photo submitted.
Showcasing one Liveset on the home page, for the next 60 minutes. Selected at random.
Use [Ctrl] + [ \ ], or STRG + [ # ] to open up the global keyboard shortcut guide modal. Might even come with a little surprise, if you can figure out how to trigger it... :) (Thanks penny!)
Overall improvements to light mode, including a feature that detects full-white logos and inverts them, effectively turning them dark.
Added "Recents" to the global search. Saved to account when logged in.
"The Playback Update pt. 2"
That's right, vrc.dj now officially supports Mixfall! All natively integrated so it even supports direct play from mobile browsers.
Keeping save states of playback progress - picking you right back up where you left off.
Added a system that automatically evaluates user trust. The more the system trusts you, the more freedoms you get. Use it wisely.
You can now clarify just how you collaborated, using delimiters like "b2b", "feat.", and "&" - and roles such as "DJ", "VJ", "LD" etc.
yea i see you submitting all these non-transparent avatars - i'm coming for you π«³π»
Added an option that lets you sort tags on your profile page, overwriting the default "auto-sort" logic. (Thanks Kray & NikkyAI!)
I know it's unicode, but I figured I'd make sure everyone can get in on the fun in a similar way.
TBA
...
A way to showcase special live acts that aren't simply run under your artist name. This is meant to represent recurring artist duos/trios/b2b's or solo performance concepts, neatly "explained" on a single page.
More to come…
