Deathstep is a dark, aggressive subgenre of dubstep that fuses the heavy, rhythmic patterns of brostep with the intense, thematic atmosphere of death metal and other extreme metal genres. It is defined by distorted basslines, machine-gun-like synths, ominous, orchestral cinematic elements, and "pan" snares.
